I was a little disapointed that we did not hear anything about our application before Christmas. It would have been a wonderful Christmas present! <br /><br />Today also starts the beginning of our Christmas break from work. All the school do not go back now until the 3rd of the New Year. Its hard to believe that school has been in four four months already. I am really enjoying my new school and love the kids that I work with. They have such personalites. <br /><br />I was reading about Racheal and Dave and rejoice that they are with their son now in the Philippines!!!! What a cute little man. I long for the day when it will be our turn. I hope we hear about our approval before Christmas. That would be a wonderful gift and blessing. I met a wonderful lady today who cut my hair. She shared that she was adopted 36 years ago from Ontario. She felt very blessed to be adopted and said her parents always told her about being adopted since she could recall and ir was always celebrated. Her mom use to tell her that she was born in her heart and was choosen. I thought that was one of the most beutiful things ever. It has been a very long road to get to this point, but thats another story for a differnt time. We decided to adopt last March and began our homestudy process. A homestudy is basically sitting in a glass bowl while everyone examines every inch of your lives. There were interviews after interview for hours and enough paper workwork to make even an accountant spin. We had to get medicals, write personal bios., police checks, references, employment and insurance letters and the list goes on and on. Well we finally did it! Our dossier as they call it- all our ppaerwork- was sent to the Philippines and arrived there October 17th, 2008. Now we are waiting for approval. It usually takes 8 to 9 weeks to hear back and we are 6 weeks in so hopefully before Christmas we will hear something.
