Hi: decided that it would be a great idea to blog my thoughts as our family goes through an adoption from the Philippines. It has been a very long road to get to this point, but thats another story for a differnt time. We decided to adopt last March and began our homestudy process. A homestudy is basically sitting in a glass bowl while everyone examines every inch of your lives. There were interviews after interview for hours and enough paper workwork to make even an accountant spin. We had to get medicals, write personal bios., police checks, references, employment and insurance letters and the list goes on and on. Well we finally did it! Our dossier as they call it- all our ppaerwork- was sent to the Philippines and arrived there October 17th, 2008. Now we are waiting for approval. It usually takes 8 to 9 weeks to hear back and we are 6 weeks in so hopefully before Christmas we will hear something. Very excited.
